History

Medical Accounts Systems (MAS) was initially formed in 1987 in response to a growing receivables problem experienced by its then parent company, a leading South Florida acute care facility. Eventually, MAS broadened its client base to include not only hospitals, but physician practice groups, laboratories, outpatient facilities, independent surgical centers, ancillary care providers, and individual practitioners.

In the last two decades, healthcare delivery and reimbursement vehicles have changed dramatically, particularly as a result of the penetration of Managed Care Organizations, the increased costs of healthcare, and the exponential growth of uninsured Americans. In order to address these new challenges and provide more comprehensive relief to its clients, MAS has evolved into a full service, regional, revenue cycle management company.
